Prudy's Problem by Carey Armstrong Ellis
This week we are working on a list of compound words. Third graders have already been talking about compound words, and many of the words on this list review sounds from previous spelling lists. Have your child break apart the compound words into two small words as they are practicing. Have them tell you WHY the word means what it means. For instance: homework is WORK you do at HOME. This will help them remember the meaning and the spelling of each of the words.
